Night Meeting Scheduled to Discuss Cuts if School Levy Fails

The school board scheduled one evening meeting to allow those who are busy during the day to weigh in and ask questions about the changes coming if the levy fails.

To cater to residents who work during the day, the scheduled an evening Community Engagement Meeting.

, which were originally only in the mornings, are focused around answering questions about what could happen if the November levy does not pass. 

The district is looking at possibly if the levy does not pass.

The first meeting Sept. 20 was well-attended, according to a district spokesperson. 

The remaining morning meetings are from Sept. 27 until Nov. 1 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Crooked River Grill, 403 N. Main St. in Munroe Falls.

The evening meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at .

Information on the levy:

A  would generate $6.5 million annually for 10 years and would cost the owner of a $100,000 home:

  • $201.21 annually
  • $100.60 for half a year
  • $16.77 a month
  • 55 cents a day

If passed, the first collection would be in 2012. The district has not collected new money since 2002.
