Past, Present School Board Members Recognized

January is Board of Education recognition month and both past and present Stow-Munroe Falls members were honored Jan. 9.

The month of January is dedicated past and present board of education members for their dedication to their elected positions.

Superintendent Russ Jones celebrated School Board Recognition Month by giving proclomations to all of the 2012 members and to former members and during the Jan. 9 meeting at the .

Mariola and Matthews were not re-elected in November. Newcomers Rod Armstrong and Fred Bonacci won in November.

"They spend an awful lot of time at meetings, on the phone with me and others, taking phone calls from community ... and we certainly appreciate that," said Jones. "The amount of time and effort you put in doesn't go unrecognized, we want to thank you."

Jones then read a proclomation from the Ohio School Boards Association.

The new board of education consists of , Bonacci, Armstrong and Dick Spangler.
