Bulldog's Football Coach Honored at Browns Stadium

The Browns lost Jan. 1, but Stow's Football Coach Mark Nori was a winner this season and honored for receiving a coach of the week award this season.

At halftime of the Browns-Steelers game Jan. 1, several high school football coaches were honored for being a Coach of the Week at Browns Stadium, including Stow's Football Coach Mark Nori.

The coaches went onto the field at halftime and because Nori couldn't make it, he asked Assistant Coach Garrett Mattes to fill in.

But, being on a NFL football field is nothing new for Nori, who spent four years in the NFL playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Giants.

Although he wasn't on the field Jan. 1, he did however attend a game a few weeks earlier for the weekly coaches award at the stadium.

"It was a lot of fun to experience the environment of a Cleveland Browns game from field level," he said. "There is so much going on on game day that you can't get the full effect by watching on television."

Winning the award was a "great way to wrap up the season. The Browns run a great program for high schools and we felt fortunate to be part of it," said Nori.

The coach who won the Coach of the Year award was Lake Catholic's Mike Bell.
