Twenty-eight entries registered to be in the parade as a float. Those entries were judged by the Stow Fourth of July Committee based on use of parade theme, originality and appearance.
Winners were awarded trophies the day of the parade, before the parade kicked off, and were announced at the reviewing stand.

The Stow Fourth of July Parade Committee announce the following float entries in the 2012 parade that were winners in the competing categories:

- 3rd Place – Polar Express – Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad
Youth Group Float Category
- 1st Place – Cub Scout Pack #3174 & Girl Scout Troop #800
- 2nd Place – Little Leapers
- 3rd Place – Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio - Troop #90537
