54th Annual Fourth of July Parade Salutes 100 Years of Girl Scouting

The city is expecting about 150 participants this year. That's a big parade!

Plans are underway for the 54th Stow Fourth of July Parade that will celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting.

The parade is on July 4 and is sponsored by the and the Kiwanis Club of Stow-Munroe Falls. 

"The committee is planning for this year’s parade to be the biggest and best so far, and is anticipating more than 150 entries in the parade, and ten's of housands of viewers attending," said Linda Nahrstedt, community information coordinator.

This year's theme is "A Salute to Girl Scouting … 100 Years Strong."

This commemorates the 100th anniversary of girl scouting in America.

The Parade Committee is still finalizing the selection of this year’s parade grand marshal and will make the announcement very soon, said Nahrstedt. 

The deadline to register as an entry in the parade is June 4.

Entries must be received by that date to be considered for this year’s parade. Application, forms and information are available here

As always, the parade steps off at 10 a.m. from the and travels down Kent Road past and ends at Park Drive.

"We are so excited for this year’s parade! The successof an event as large and important as this requires the help and cooperation of many. I hope that everyone will assist us in making this a great day, as theyhave in years past,” said Mayor Sara Drew.
